HONG KONG, Aug 4 (AP) -- Andy Lau says he was inspired to record a song about global warming for his new album "Miracle World" after a snowless movie shoot in China's west.

"I went to Dunhuang to shoot a movie. It should be snowing in February, but it wasn't. When we wanted to shoot snow scenes, we couldn't get any snow," Lau said in a TV interview posted on the Chinese news Web site Sina.com Saturday, referring to the western Chinese city.

He said it eventually did snow -- in April. Lau didn't say which movie he was shooting.

Lau said he was also motivated to record the song, called "It Doesn't Snow in Winter" in Chinese, by the warmer weather he noticed in Beijing.

Lau, who juggles successful music and movie careers, also said he plans to cut his workload by two-thirds if he gets married, saying he was haunted by a story told by fellow Hong Kong actor Eric Tsang.

"I remember Eric Tsang said something that affected me quite a bit. He said he didn't know what his daughter looked like from age 2 to 8," Lau said.
