MACAO, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Macao police have nabbed a suspect who allegedly had 198 bogus 100-U.S.-dollar bills, local media reported Monday.

The Macao Post Daily quoted police sources as saying that the suspect, who is holding the Chinese mainland travel documents, was detained at a local casino on Saturday following his efforts to purchase gaming chips using 100 of the forged notes.

The 38-year-old suspect has been transferred to the Public Prosecution for further investigations and possible arraignment on counterfeit currency charges, the sources told the newspaper.
