MACAO, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Macao, a region with a population of 528,000, saw a record labor force of 317,500 in the third quarter of this year, according to official statistics issued Wednesday.

The figures from the government-run Statistics and Census Service showed that the city saw a 3.1-percent unemployment rate in the third quarter, remaining flat on the second quarter.

A jobless rate of around three percent is widely seen as full employment.

In the third quarter, 24 percent of the employed population was engaged in the sector of gaming, entertainment and other services, the figures showed.
