Taiwan's economy grows 6.92 percent

TAIPEI, Nov 22, 2007 (AFP) - Taiwan's economy grew at an annual rate of 6.92 percent in the third quarter helped by exports and the manufacturing sector, the government said Thursday.

That compared with gross domestic product growth of 5.24 percent for the second quarter, said the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics.

The agency also raised its forecast for 2007 economic growth to 5.46 percent, up from an earlier estimate of 4.58 percent.
