HONG KONG, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Hong Kong Food and Health Bureau and State Administration of Traditional Chinese medicine signed here Friday a co-operation agreement on Chinese medicine. Hong Kong Secretary for Food and Health York Chow and Vice-Minister of Health and Director-General of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine Wang Guoqiang as representatives to sign the agreement, which aims to foster co- operation and exchange between the Mainland and Hong Kong in the development of Chinese medicine. Under the agreement, the two parties will enhance co-operation in various areas, including the strategies for the development of Chinese medicine, Chinese medicine policies and regulation, development of service interface between Chinese and Western medicine, standards for Chinese medicine, training for Chinese medicine practitioners, and hospital management and organization of promotional activities for Chinese medicine. To put into effect the co-operation agreement, the two parties agreed to establish co-operation mechanism among relevant departments, and to hold working meetings when necessary.
