BEIJING, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong will provide high-tech services and facilities for all horses in the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Esquestrain Events, said the events organizer here Wednesday.

High technology and well proven practical measures will be adopted to provide best possible care for all the horses in the generally hot and humid conditions that will prevail in Hong Kong in August when the events take place, said Lam Woon-kwong, chief of the HK esquestrain company at the press conference.

These measures will cover the stabling, cooling facilities and veterinary services to minimize the possible affects from warm weather on equestra in horses, Lin said.

Horses will get 24-hour air-conditioned stabling complex, air-conditioned lorries, indoor training arena, and misting tents at the venue.

A team of 30 veterinarians and vet assistants from both overseas and Hong Kong will provide necessary services for the horses to ensure they are in good condition before and after the competition, Lin said, adding his company has recruited nearly 2,500 volunteers for the events.

In addition, training and competition times have been arranged to take advantage of the cooler periods of day, for example, competition will only take place in the early morning and evening.

Lin expressed his confidence towards the events, saying, "Everything will go well during the events."

The Beijing Olympic Esquestrain Events will be held from Aug. 9-21, while the Paralympic one will be on Sept. 7-11.
