HONG KONG, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government Gregory So will depart for Kazan, Russia Sunday for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Trade, according to the city's government news website Sunday.
Trade ministers from APEC member economies will on Monday discuss the four priorities for APEC this year during the MRT meeting, including trade and investment liberalization, regional economic integration, strengthening food security, establishing reliable supply chains and intensive cooperation to foster innovative growth.
Ministers will also exchange views on the prospects of the Doha Development Agenda (DDA) negotiations in the World Trade Organization (WTO). WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy will brief ministers on the state of play of the DDA negotiations.
So will be back in Hong Kong next Wednesday morning.
