BEIJING, April 22(Xinhuanet)-- IBM launched a new solution here on Friday to help companies to establish and maintain Business-to-Business(B2B) Exchanges based on RosettaNet industry-wide, open e-business process standards.
The IBM eDistribution Solution targets multinational companies and large domestic enterprises in China.
"The high cost of B2B Exchanges has been a barrier to getting smaller suppliers and trading partners connected to the e-supply chain of large companies," said Joe Kaczmarek, Worldwide Business Development Executive, B2B Solutions, Software Group of IBM.
"The new solution, available both in English and Chinese, can be an answer to the problem. And it is affordable as it starts from less than 1,000 US dollars per trading partner," said Joe.
Developed by IBM China Software Development Lab on IBM WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Business Integrator Connect, the new solution offers a flexible transaction environment that can literally be deployed to a new trading partner in a few minutes and without human intervention.
"This represents a milestone in commerce in B2B environments, where trading partner enablement in the past could take days and cost thousands of US dollars per trading partner," said Joe.
According to Joe, IBM launched this new solution in China as there has been so many small and medium-sized enterprises who have been holding a great demand for a high-quality and low-cost B2B solution when performing e-commerce.
Following the China launch, the solution will be available on a global basis.
IBM will offer complete implementations of the solution in China in partnership with China e-Hub, managed by Beijing-based China ECNet Co., Ltd..
IBM and China e-Hub will jointly offer a comprehensive suite ofservices including total solution design and configuration, hosting, trading partner on-boarding and ongoing management services.
Adopting the RosettaNet Automated Enablement(RAE) standard, the IBM eDistribution Solution will be maintained by IBM China Software Development Lab.
"With the robust growth and globalization of China's economy, the development of e-Supply Chain in China meets both opportunities and challenges. The launch of the new solution will also help China's e-commerce to catch up with the global level," said Zhao Weiyang, Chairman and CEO of ChinaECNet.
