BEIJING, May 23-- China has recently published the country's first serial report on environmental topics.

The three books, written by Zhe Fu, a dedicated environmental writer, are in-depth reports on the environmental situation in the three major river basins of the Yangtze River, Yellow River and Huaihe River.

These areas all have encountered serious environmental problems during the past decades due to fast industrialization and urbanization.

Zhe decided to write about environmental issues in 1982. Since then, he has written seven long reports on the subject. Some of his works have become very popular at home and abroad.
