BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhuanet) -- A bizarre creature that looks part squid, octopus and spider was trapped in the filter of a deep-sea water-pipe system, biologists in Hawaii reported Friday.

Biologists expect it could be a new species of squid, but it's been dubbed "octosquid" until further research is completed.

The pipes are part of the Natural Energy Laboratory in Hawaii.

"We really enjoy these little mysteries that come up," said Christopher Kelley, program biologist for the Hawaii Undersea Research Laboratory.
