Internet surfers and gadget fans will descend on the 6th China International Digital Content Expo, the most important exposition of Internet-based products and services of the country, at the Beijing Exhibition Center from October 23 to October 26, 2008.
The showcase serves as a platform for enterprises, organizations and institutions engaged in the Internet industry to unveil their latest products and meet directly with their customers.
Digital products including MP3s, MP4s, and iPods., the latest online games, mobile phone games, and animation, especially those designed and produced by Chinese enterprises will be shown at the exposition.
In addition, products and services related with online education, digital toys and online businesses are also taking part.
Exhibitors will present online music and online videos during the four-day event, which are highlights of the expo. As part of the event, the organizing committee will hold a nationwide online music talent contest in order to provide more excellent original music to the public.
For the first time this year, the annual exposition will have an official mascot. The organizer will launch an online voting campaign so the public can not only submit suggestions, but also choose their favorite one on the official expo website. The winner will receive 50,000 yuan (US$7,143) in prize money.
The China International Digital Content Expo is organized by the Ministry of Culture together with seven other government departments. Last year, more than 120,000 people visited the expo. About 220 exhibitors showed their products and designs during the four-day event with a total business volume of 250 million yuan (US$35.7 million).
