Deutsche Welle: China launches lunar orbiter

China has launched its first lunar orbiter. The Chang'e One orbiter lifted off from the city of Xichang in the south-western province of Sichuan. It is to spend more than one year scanning the surface of the moon. China has said that it plans to send an unmanned rover to the surface of the moon in five years and put a man on the moon by 2020.
