Car Manufacturers from across the globe are displaying their wares at the prestigious 2012 Beijing Auto Show. Amongst the many vehicles on display is Audi's plug in hybrid A6 L e-tron. This visually spectacular sedan is garnering a great deal of attention at the Auto show.
It's least surprising why, considering the high demand for eco friendly plug-in vehicles in China and other Asian countries. Audi has in the past revealed that it wants to establish itself in a big way in the EV segment. The A6 L e-tron is equipped with a TFSI 2.0 liter engine with 211 horsepower and an alternative motor.
It consists of a lithium ion battery placed in the rear end of the car. Electric motor boasts of a maximum output of 95 hp. Although the sedan is similar to the current A6 L, changes in identity are revealed through a revamped grille, headlamps, and 21 inch wheels. On the rear is a small air-diffuser.
Inside, it's the tachometer that makes way for what Audi calls a powermeter that indicates driving power. The A6 L e-tron has a MMI navigation unit that recognizes 29,000 Chinese characters.
