Jamming with rock stars

"Highway to hell. Highway to hell."

It's more like heaven than hell for stay-at-home mom Betty Ann of New York. She's performing at the House of Blues backed by former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade. Making that possible: she is enrolled in the "Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp."

"(SOUNDBITE) (English) CAMPER BETTY ANN FROM LONG ISLAND SAYING:

"I just have never gotten over rock'n'roll, ever. And I don't think I plan to in the near future. And it's just a lot of fun. It's my passion. I love it. It makes life worth living."

For about $2,000, campers get to rehearse with and get tips from leading musicians, such as Grammy winning songwriter and producer Mark Hudson.

(Nat)

"I know it sounds subtle, but it makes a difference in the end . One, two three, four ..."

But Hudson and other camp "counselors" get something out of it, too.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MARK HUDSON GRAMMY WINNING SONGWRITER AND PRODUCER SAYING:

"It's weird because, you know Earl (Slick) and myself, we both knew John Lennon. He played with (David) Bowie. I produced Aerosmith. And sometimes you can get really jaded being with people who are that iconic. And the best part about this is that it brings us back to where we began. Pretty cool."

Still can't get satisfaction after a whole day? An extended package allows them to tour with their counselors. Just don't trash the room, please.
