It's not easy to run in stilettos. In fact it looks - and probably feels - a bit ridiculous.
But that's all part of the fun, at least for those who finished the marathon 80-metre wobble.
Professional 400-metres hurdler Brittney McGlone had no trouble sprinting past her competitors to finish in first place.
As well as the prize money - a little over 4,000 US dollars - there's the camaraderie of breaking a world record.
More than 260 inappropriately-shod runners turned up this time, putting the boot into the 150 women who turned up last time, in the Netherlands.
