A U.S. judge ruled in favor of Warner Brothers and author J.K. Rowling, stopping the publication of an unofficial encyclopedic companion to the popular Harry Potter book series.
A year after her disastrous comeback attempt at the MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears swept the event on Sunday, winning the first three "Moonman" statuettes of her career. The pop singer, whose career has been overshadowed in recent years by a litany of personal woes, took home the awards for video of the year, best pop video and best female video, all for the tune "Piece of Me."

Oasis star Noel Gallagher was attacked on stage by a fan during a concert in Canada. The guitarist was pushed into set of speakers, possibly fracturing his ribs. The attacker was eventually tacked by security.
It looks like the boys from South Park have worn out their welcome in Russia. Officials there want to ban the award-winning cartoon, calling the series "extremist" after receiving viewer complaints.
