Filarmonica Della Scala comes to Beijing

One of the world's most renowned orchestras Filarmonica della Scala recently wrap up its Asian tour at Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts.

In front of a 2,000 member audience, conductor Myung-Whun Chung directed musical scores by Rossini, Puccini, Verdi and Tchaikovsky.

The concert ended with a 10 minute ovation following an encore performance of Rossini's William Tell Overture.

Filarmonica della Scala's recent Asian Tour 2008 was under the direction of Korean conductor and pianist Myung-Whun Chung.

Filarmonica della Scala was founded in 1982 by Claudio Abbado and since then many great conductors have led the orchestra.
