Chris Brown's American Music Awards

R&B singer Chris Brown swept the American Music Awards on Sunday (November 23), winning three prizes including artist of the year. The 19-year-old star overshadowed Alicia Keys, who led the field with five nominations. She ended up with a pair of statuettes.

Boy George handcuffed a male escort to the wall of his London home after accusing him of hacking into his computer. This was the news out of the singer's first day in court on charges of false imprisonment. Boy George has pleaded innocent to the charges..

The Tribeca Film Festival is expanding - to the middle east. Founded by Robert De Niro, the New York fest plans to stage a new festival in Qatar. The Tribeca Film Festival Doha will launch in November 2009 with the goal of bridging American and Islamic cultures through film.

No Doubt announced it will return to the road in 2009 while it finishes its first studio album in seven years. No Doubt has been in the studio on and off throughout 2008. But Gwen Stefani's participation has been limited, having given birth to her second son in late August. The group hasn't played live since mid-2004.

Finally, Good Charlotte launched their "Greatest Remixes" album over the weekend. The party drew a packed crowd in Los Angeles, including Nicole Ritchie, girlfriend of Charlotte frontman Joel Madden.
