Students in India's northern Chandigarh attempt to make world's largest sandwich.

A hundred and twenty students in India's northern Chandigarh attempt to make world's largest sandwich. The giant sandwich was made using 120 slices of bread, each slice weighing 21 kilograms. A small shop's worth of vegetables were used to prepare the sandwich that finally weighed 435 kilograms.

It looks more like a construction project than cooking.

But when you are making the world's largest sandwich that is hardly surprising.

Pupils at the Ryan International School in India's northern Chandigarh spent four hours on the record breaking attempt.

They used 120 slices of giant bread as well as masses of carefully prepared vegetables to make the sizeable snack which finally weighed in at 435 kilograms.

And the project proved highly motivational as this pupil explains.

"Our message is dream big, think big and achieve big.

The children didn't make clear exactly who was going to eat the sandwich - but it's guaranteed to take quite some time.
