The Shors, a small indigenous nation in southwest Siberia, are trying to revive their dying culture.
Numbering just 14,000, the Shor people, who descend from Turkic tribes, have fought a long struggle against Russian assimilation. Decades of Soviet repression and enduring poverty have left the Shors facing cultural extinction - but some are making a determined effort to preserve their ethnic heritage.
