What's cooking in Tokyo?

Tokyo hosts more than 20 international celebrity chefs for a three-day culinary gathering called "Tokyo Taste - The world Summit of Gastronomy 2009."

Besides fostering dialogues among the world's most influential chefs, the event also is aimed at promoting Japanese food culture to the world.

It is being billed as the first international summit of gastronomy in Asia.

Tokyo is playing host to more than 20 international celebrity chefs for a three-day culinary gathering.

"I believe there are two important reasons why we're having this summit. One is to share. It's important to share what we have between Japan and us. The other is to take the world's culinary scene to the next stage."

This is one case where the hope is that too many chefs doesn't spoil the summit.

In Tokyo, top chefs from eight different countries mingled with each other, introduced their recipes and actually cooked some of their signature dishes before an audience of cooking enthusiasts.
