Authorities are still unsure why a 27-year-old Alabama man shot dead 10 people, including his mother and uncle, before killing himself.
Police say Michael McLendon, who lived with his mother, started his shooting spree by killing his mother and then burning her house. He then traveled through several small towns in southeastern Alabama on a killing spree taking the lives of men, women, and even a child- some of them completely at random. Four people are recovering from gunshot wounds in local hospitals.

"I've been here thirty years. This is the worst thing that's ever happened in this community. The worst."
The shooting spree ended after a gunbattle with police and a car chase down a rural highway.
McLendon, who reportedly was armed with both pistols and two assault rifles, had just quit his job at a sausage plant on Friday.
