A Chinese military jet crashed in northeast China during a joint anti-terrorism exercise with Russia.
The official Xinhua News Agency says the jet with a crew of two was flying over a tactical training base in the city of Taonan in Jilin province when it crashed Sunday morning, July 19, 2009.
People's Daily Online reported that the two pilots of the "Flying Leopard" fighter bomber have died.
Developed by Xi'an Aircraft Industry Company, the "Flying Leopard," also known as the FBC-1, is a medium-sized fighter bomber. China started to independently design and produce them in the 1980s.
