Bubba Watson carded a final round of 4-under-par 66 and won the Travelers Championship in the second hole of a playoff, with Scott Verplank and Corey Pavin.
In a day of sport meltdowns, the Travelers Championship went into a playoff thanks to a meltdown by the final group of Justin Rose and Ben Curtis. Watson got into the playoff be getting hot on the back nine with four birdies in five holes starting at the 12th hole to take a one-stroke lead at 15-under-par.
The playoff almost ended at the first hole, when Watson came within an inch of holing-out for eagle, but he sealed the championship on the next hole when he sank a three-foot par-putt. The win is the first career title for Watson on the PGA Tour and the victory gains him entry into this year's PGA Championship.
