Thousands of spectators gathered on Easter Island to watch a full eclipse of the sun.
Armed with cameras and special glasses to protect their their eyes, they waited at the island's Rapa Nui National Park for the moon to pass in front of the sun.
The sky was dark for a total of four minutes during the eclipse.
Easter Island, which belongs to Chile, was one of only a few places to view the eclipse.
