Soldiers are scrambling around China to rescue people trapped by floods and to reinforce overflowing river banks.
In southern Guandong province these men stuck in the middle of river have no where to go.
Their only hope is to hold onto a bundle of red rope as a group of men pull them to shore.
Torrential rains and landslides have battered China since May.
This year nearly 1,000 people have died and more than two hundred have lost their lives in the last week alone.
