Leonardo DiCaprio's dreams thriller "Inception" ruled the North American box office for a third weekend, fending off challenge by the Steve Carell comedy "Dinner for Schmucks."
"Inception" sold 27.5 million dollars (USD) worth of tickets during the three days, taking its 3-week total to more than 193 million.
"Dinner for Schmucks" followed with just over 23. million, a number that was in line with expectations.
"Schmucks," which garnered mixed reviews, stars Steve Carell and Paul Rudd.
Honors for the biggest bomb went to the costly 3D family sequel "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore," which opened at No. 5 with just 12.5 million, well short of expectations.
The online celebrity site TMZ.com is reporting that Lindsay Lohan's court ordered 90-day rehab stint will take place at an Orange Country, California drug rehab center, that specializes in methamphetamines detoxification. It's been reported that the actress could find her release from jail as early as Sunday (August 01, 2010).
U.S. jazz singer Al Jarreau was discharged from hospital on Sunday after being treated for heart problems. The 70-year-old singer, who collapsed during concern in France, plans to continue his European tour on Tuesday (August 03).
