Julia Roberts embarks on a spiritual journey, in the new film 'Eat Pray Love'.
Based on the best-selling novel by Elizabeth Gilbert, the film tells the story of Liz, an author who takes off on a worldwide journey after a painful divorce.
First stop, is Italy, where Roberts reportedly gained 10 pounds whilst filming.
Her character travels to an ashram in India, before moving on to Bali.
Roberts admits there were times she felt out of her comfort zone.
"You know I haven't done a main part in a movie in a long time and I wondered if that kind of work load would still be interesting to me and I was very happy at the end of this that I felt incredibly fulfilled as a creative person."
Javier Bardem stars alongside Roberts as her character's love interest, 'Felipe'.
The actor insists the film is much more than just a 'chick flick'.
"I think the movie speaks to everybody otherwise it wouldn't speak to me when I read it. I think the movie speaks about people trying to face doubts, fears, insecurities and that relates to everybody."
'Eat Pray Love' hits theaters on August 13.
