The line of potential suitors for English Premier League soccer club Liverpool has thinned out slightly, as the Indian finance and media giant Sahara India Pariwar dropped out of the race.
As many as six parties are said to be jostling to buy the club which has won the title of English champions 18 times.
It is hopeful for a cash injection to help deal with a 375 million dollar debt, build a stadium and invest in the club.
Liverpool has had some good news in recent weeks with stars Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres pledging their futures to the club, and the arrival of England star Joe Cole and Serbia forward Milan Jovanovic.
When the new season kicks off, the team will surely be hoping for greater clarity off the pitch to help the players concentrate on what's happening on it.
