Gottex showcases a glamorous swimwear collection for Spring 2011 at New York Fashion Week.
Glamorous beachwear for Spring 2011, that is what design label Gottex presented at the New York Fashion Week
The swimwear fashion house showcased designs featuring ruched and foiled metal Lycra, finished with Lucite, rock crystals and hammered titanium metals.
With a colour palette of cobalt, sunset, sand, green and bronze, the collection was created to accentuate the female form.
Gottex Designer Molly Grad explains:
"I think to me it was all about positive feeling and optimism and it's a mix of different nature aspects like sunset. We have a lot of sunset prints, a lot of sunset colours, sunrise colours and then we have a lot of different rock formations like malachite prints and sand prints so it's pretty much a positive, colourful collection for a very confident woman."
Grad hopes that her collection will appeal to those women who truly dreaded shopping for swimwear.
"I have to say I really identify with that feeling because no matter who I meet, every single woman feels particularly naked and exposed when she's on the beach, so in a way I feel that we have to provide an extra layer of confidence to those girls. And you want to feel held in and secure and gorgeous, so I definitely think it's an experience that all women know very well."
When the curtain finally closes on fashion week on September 16, more than 90 designers would have showcased their collections for Spring / Summer 2011
