With weeks remaining until the midterm election, President Barack Obama worked to energize his supporters. Deborah Gembara reports.

With the midterm election just weeks away and early forecasts favoring Republicans, President Barack Obama's message was clear.

SOUNDBITE: President Barack Obama, saying:

"I think the pundits are wrong, I think we are going to win but it's up to you to show the pundits that you care too much about this country to let it fall backwards."

Speaking in Philadelphia, the president urged a crowd of more than 18,000 people, according to organizers, to get out and vote.

He also evoked memories of sunnier times for his party.

SOUNDBITE: President Barack Obama, saying:

"On November 2, I need you to be as fired up as you were in 2008."

A sluggish economy has seen a dip in approval ratings for the president ---a trend he hopes to change with more and more public appearances over the next few weeks.
