An elderly looking Caucasian man goes to the bathroom on a flight bound for Canada from Hong Kong.
He re-emerges as a young Asian man.
Now Canadian authorities want to know how the passenger was able to board the plane in such a disguise.
The unidentified man used a silicon head and neck mask to pull off the switch.
When he was arrested upon landing, the man requested asylum and remains in custody.
At least one Canadian politician was outraged by the security breach.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) NDP DEPUTY LEADER THOMAS MULCAIR, SAYING:
"They're installing machines in airports now that show people naked for all intensive purposes, and we can't do the most basic thing like verify their identity? That's a real problem."
It's thought the costumed passenger swapped his boarding pass with a U.S. citizen who was also booked on the flight.
