Radiohead issued a brief public statement Sunday saying they were “shattered by the loss of Scott Johnson” — the drum technician killed Saturday after the stage at Toronto’s Downsview Park collapsed.
“He was a lovely man, always positive, supportive and funny; a highly skilled and valued member of our great road crew,” read the statement, attributed to Phil Selway on the band’s website.
“We will miss him very much. Our thoughts and love are with Scott’s family and all those close to him.”
The sold-out Downsview concert was cancelled after the roof of the outdoor stage collapsed during sound checks and rehearsals at about 4 p.m., killing one person and injuring three others, police and fire officials said.
