Cat acts as alarm clock to wake owner

Heavy sleepers simply snooze or turn off their annoying alarm clocks and get back in bed. But when you keep an early-to-rise cat at home, there’s no button to quickly shut it off.

Each morning, a man gets a unique wake-up call from his cat, Boo, which repeatedly pokes a doorstop to make noise.

“He doesn't do it because he's hungry; he does it because he feels lonely. When he flicks the door stop it scares the crap out of us, and we wake up right away,” he explained.

From the closed door, Boo’s paw can be seen suddenly popping out and grabbing the doorstop.

“Every day, at around 5 a.m., my cat alarm clock goes off just like this,” the caption said.

Boo then pulled the doorstop and released it, creating a jittery bouncing sound. He repeated this morning ritual several times hoping to catch his owner’s attention.

He only stopped when he saw his owner’s hand moving under the bottom of the door and began to play. When his owner left, Boo continued pulling the doorstop until his owner got up and finally opened the door.

The cat’s video has been viewed more than 660,000 times. After watching the video, some sleepy heads with jobs requiring them to get up early in the morning commented that they wished they had the same kind of alarm clock.
