PRAGUE, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Czech and U.S. negotiators have met on the agreement that defines the purpose of the establishment of planned U.S. radar base on Czech soil, the Czech news agency CTK reported on Thursday.

The representatives of the two side discussed Czech involvement in command and operation of the radar base, construction and environment of the base and its integration with NATO system, Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Tomas Pojar told the CTK.

The U.S. and Czech negotiators are more open to each other in the remaining phase of talks, Pojar said.

Both the diplomats must solve the partial problem in the next round of negotiations, he added.

Talks on both agreements are to continue at least until Feb. 7 when senior U.S. diplomat John Rood is scheduled to come to Prague.

The United States initiated the plan to deploy an anti-missile radar base in the Czech Republic and a missile interceptor base inPoland. Negotiations between the Czech Republic and the United States are still underway.
