UN employee found dead at headquarters

UNITED NATIONS, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- A UN employee was found dead Sunday at the United Nations Headquarters, according to a UN statement.

"A UN agency staff member died after falling from the 19th floor of the UN Secretariat building," the statement said.

New York police and UN security guards are investigating the incident, it said.

"At this time there is no suspicion of foul play," it added. "Pending notification of next of kin, the staff member's identity will not be made available."

Local media reports quoted police as saying the victim was white and 44 years old.
