Nepali PM urges all to exercise their right to vote freely

KATHMANDU, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Nepali Prime Minister President Girija Prasad Koirala Wednesday called on all Nepalis to exercise their franchise to vote freely from intimidation and doubts with confidence that their votes will remain secret.

In his special message address to the people on the eve of the crucial Constituent Assembly (CA) elections, Koirala said that theCA elections will open doors for Nepal to enter a new era.

The octogenarian PM further called on all political parties to respect people's votes, maintaining restrain and patience.

Meanwhile, Koirala left for his hometown Biratnagar, Morang district in eastern Nepal, Wednesday afternoon to cast ballot in the historical elections.

Koirala will cast his vote Thursday at a poll booth in his hometown, some 240 km east of Kathmandu.
