Thirteen militants killed in Pakistani forces operation

ISLAMABAD, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Thirteen militants were killed and five others injured Saturday when Pakistani security forces bombarded militants hideouts in the country's northwest, said the military in a press release.

The military used cobra helicopters in the operation and a huge cache of explosives in a town in the restive Swat valley was also destroyed in the bombardment, it said.

One soldier was martyred in the operation, said the press release of the Swat media center.
