Pope Benedict calls for an end to child abuse.

The pontiff made his appeal as he led the world's Roman Catholics into Christmas with a midnight mass. Pope Benedict has repeatedly raised the issue of child abuse by Catholic clergy this year. In the U.S. he met with victims who had been sexually abused by priests and made a public apology over the issue during a trip to Australia.
