Bangladesh Cricket Board condemns attack on Sri Lankan cricketers

DHAKA, Mar. 3 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) condemned the attack on Sri Lankan cricket players in Lahore of Pakistan on Tuesday, a release of BCB said.

BCB members expressed their deep concern over the unprecedented attack on cricket, which is a symbol of hope and aspiration for millions in the sub-continent and around the world.

The organization has expressed solidarity with the players, match officials and victims of the attack.

BCB has been in touch with Sri Lanka Cricket, Pakistan Cricket Board and the International Cricket Council and has voiced its alarms at the incident.

A dozen of unidentified gunmen attacked the Sri Lankan cricket team with rifles, grenades and rocket launchers ahead of the resumption of play in the second test at Lahore, wounding several players and killing at least five policemen and two civilians.
