TEGUCIGALPA, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Supporting television and radio of Honduran ousted President Manuel Zelaya denounced Monday that separate attacks on their broadcasting equipment by unknown people a day ago were retaliation for having sympathy for Zelaya.
Masked men broke into Radio Globlo, owned by Eduardo Maldonado and Alejandro Villatoro, former collaborators of Zelaya, and damaged the equipment with a liquid on Sunday evening, news anchorman David Romero Ellner said.
The attack occurred when the radio was broadcasting a concert promoted by the National Front of Resistance group that was against the July 28 coup that forced Zelaya to leave Honduras.
Meanwhile, the Channel 36, owned by Esdras Amado Lopez, also former collaborator of Zelaya's government, suffered a similar attack on its broadcasting equipment.
The radio and the television station were besieged by soldiers after Zelaya was ousted, and their signals had been cut off for a few days, receiving strong blames.
