BAGHDAD, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and 13 others injured in two bomb attacks in and near Baghdad on Sunday, a police source said.

A government employee was killed and three of his colleagues were injured when a bomb attached to their vehicle detonated near the Baghdad University intersection in Karradah neighborhood in central the capital, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

In a separate incident, an explosive charge went off inside a popular restaurant in the town of Musayyeb, some 50 km south of Baghdad, killing a civilian and wounding 10 others, the source said.

Sporadic attacks continue in Iraq as part of recent deterioration in security which foiled the efforts of the Iraqi government to restore normalcy in the country after more than three months of U.S. troops' pullout of Iraqi cities and towns.
