Venezuelan president meets with Guinea Bissau's PM

CARACAS, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez met on Wednesday with Prime Minister of Guinea Bissau Carlos Gomesat the Miraflores Palace on bilateral ties.

After his meeting with Chavez, Gomes told the press that his country "is ready to receive Venezuela's investment," adding that a Venezuelan delegation will soon travel to his country.

Gomes arrived in Venezuela on Sunday for his first official visit to the country, during which the two governments signed seven cooperation agreements in the fields of education, mining, energy and anti-drugs campaign.

Venezuela and Guinea Bissau established diplomatic ties in 2006.
