KATHMANDU, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala returned to the capital Kathmandu from Singapore after treatment on Sunday.

Koirala's health condition has improved a lot and will intensify political discussions in the days ahead to defuse the political crisis, said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala talking to journalists at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Hundreds of party leaders and cadres had reached the airport to welcome him.

The octogenarian leader did not talk to media. Sujata, who accompanied her father all through his Singapore stay, said there will be an extensive political agreement from now on.

She added that Koirala will intensify political discussions in the next few days.

Koirala, who has been suffering from chronic respiratory diseases and troubled by recurrent pneumonia, had left for Singapore on Nov. 14.
