ABUJA, May 6 (Xinhua) -- A military aircraft carrying former Nigerian President Umaru Yar' Adua's body left Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport at about 12:30 p.m. local time Thursday to his home state of Katsina for burial.
The remains of the former president were moved out of the State House Presidential Villa, Abuja at 11.02 a.m. local time for burial.
Yar'Adua died on Wednesday of a protracted heart disease and will be buried in his home town Katsina at 2 p.m. local time on Thursday.
Yar'Adua's corpse was wrapped in Nigeria's color of green-white-green cloth, put on a stretcher and conveyed by a State House Ambulance Registration Number 572.
Governors of Kwara, Bukola Saraki, Benue, Gabriel Suswam and Bauchi, Isa Yuguda, were among the dignitaries on the entourage.
Yar'Adua's wife Hajia Turai and her children also accompanied the remains.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole is leading the federal government delegation to the burial.
