SANTIAGO, July 15 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale Friday jolted 55 miles (88 km) off the central Chilean port city of Valparaiso, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 22.90 km, hit at around 8:26 p.m. local time (0026 GMT), and was initially determined to be at 33.80 degrees south latitude and 72.07 degrees west longitude.
There were no immediate reports of damage or tsunami warning.
