KHARTOUM, April 20 (Xinhua) -- South Sudan's information ministry on Friday announced President Salva Kiir Mayardit's decision to withdraw the troops occupying the contested oil-rich town of Heglig near the Sudan-South Sudan border, media reports said.

The announcement came after Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir declared war on the South a few days ago over recent military confrontation around Heglig, which lies within the Sudanese territory according to 1956 borderline.
