TIRIN KOT, Afghanistan, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Casualties were feared as a suicide bombing rocked Tirin Kot city, the provincial capital of southern Afghan province of Uruzgan on Sunday morning, a police source said.

"I do confirm that a man blew up an explosive-laden vest attached to his body near the gate of a police department in Tirin Kot city at around 11:30 a.m. when a group of U.S. soldiers with the NATO-led troops were leaving the building," a police spokesman Farid Ayal told Xinhua.

He said an investigation has been launched and details will be released to the media later.

Meantime, unofficial sources in the province said that at least two U.S. soldiers were killed and four people including two civilians were injured in the incident.
