BANGKOK, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Foreign Minister Surapong Towichukchaikul attended an anti-piracy conference in Dubai scheduled on June 27-28, the ministry said Wednesday.

The event is hosted by the United Arab Emirates government and DP World, the fourth largest marine port company in the world.

Senior government officials from 50 countries as well as executives of leading global companies in maritime related industries were invited to the two-day event where they could share experiences and ideas on how the government and private sectors can join hands to find a long-term solution to the piracy problem.

On the sidelines, Surapong would also hold talks with his counterparts from countries in the Middle East and Africa, according to the ministry.
