SKOPJE, July 11 (Xinhua) -- A traffic accident on Tuesday in eastern Macedonia left 27 military personnel and three civilians injured, authorities said on Wednesday.

Snezana Saneva, spokeswoman for regional office of the interior ministry, said that a bus carrying 32 military personnel from the barracks to their homes collided with a car with three passengers aboard on Tuesday afternoon.

The bus overturned after the collision on a regional road close to Stip, a town about 120 km south-east of capital Skopje.

"Two of the passengers in the car were seriously injured and were taken to a hospital in Skopje, while the others had minor injuries and were taken to the Strumica hospital," Saneva said.

One of the military personnel was also seriously hurt.

The police said they are investigating the cause of the accident.
